From Aldora Britain Records on the song Ladeda - 'Ladeda' is a free-roaming, travelling troubadour song. Tapping into the realms of cosmic Americana, highway music, and a classic folk rock sound, James McKeivier & The Starry Sky Band create an almost whimsical soundscape, growing and evolving throughout. The track is the soundtrack to all sorts of adventures, complete with twanging Western guitar and haunting organ overtones. This is the sound of new Americana.
From Cool Cleveland on the record "Hills & Dreams" - A twangy country vibe pervades the entire album, whether on more stripped-down, pensive tunes such as “Little Bird,”or more densely arranged and forceful tracks such as “Somewhere in my Mind” or “Lonesome in the Desert.” McKeivier and the band pull out all the stops on the honky-tonkin’ rave-up “Let Me Be the One.” McKeivier’s raw, scratchy, voice, with direct, unadorned phrasing that’s almost conversational, fit this vibe perfectly. And it’s just the right vehicle for the songs’ lyrical themes of wandering, lonesome, unsettled lives.
From Cool Cleveland on "The Storm Rages On" - It features his latest lineup including new member Larry Kalal on bass and backing vocalist, percussionist Jason Kuebler, keyboard player Billmike and guitarist Gary Heinrich Jr. Luckily, the increased musical firepower doesn’t cover up McKeivier’s roots as an intimate and personal songwriter and performer although it provides some density and momentum to tracks like “They Closed Down the Dance Hall” and “End of the Day” and punches up “Ladeda,” an otherwise pensive tune. But intimacy prevails on tunes such as “Lonely Hearts,” showcases for McKeivier’s rough-edged voice with its echoes of Dylan and Cash.

With the addition of Larry Kalal (Bass and back-up vocals) joining Jason Kuebler (Percussion) the rhythm section is complete, allowing Billmike (Keyboards) and Gary Heinrich Jr (electric guitar) to explore new grounds as on the heavy, End of the Day or the swinging, Suitcase in my Hand, while James McKeivier (vocals and acoustic guitar) belts out meaningful lyrics. Beautiful harmonies can be found throughout the record, particularly on the sincere Lonely Hearts and perhaps the single of the record Ladeda, that features Skylar Keffer and Claire D Vien.
